A total of 16 players participated.
Competition was keen and the winner was John Butcher with a great score of net 31. Butch is playing really good golf at the moment.
Runner-up was Bruce Mitchell on 31 1/2. Bruce is also playing consistently well.
Other ball winners on the day were Brian Scott 32, Brian Masling 32 1/2, Dudley Alcorn 33 and Neil Haley 33.
Steve Ward won the nearest the pin.
The next Veterans' nine-hole event will be a stroke event on the front nine on Saturday September 19.
In the Vets' Open news we can advise members, Coonamble Open scheduled for August 23 has been cancelled for this year.
Two other Opens due for this year are Cobar on Friday September 4 and Gulgong on Thursday September 10.
Veteran golfers are reminded the NSWVGA Sand Greens Men's Four Ball State Championships are to be held at Narromine on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13.
This will be a big day for the club and it is hoped all our members will support the event.
Nominations close on September 1 and entry forms are available at the club and from secretary Norm Lewis on phone 6889 4212.
On a sad note I must finish by extending veteran members' deepest sympathy to Leonie Crawford and her family on the loss of husband Bryce.
Bryce was a foundation member of the Veterans' Golf Club and a great supporter and friend of us all. He will be sadly missed.
