Mikayla Rosser is accused of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, affray and other offences in company against a number of victims at Narromine.
Two weeks after she was remanded in custody she faced court again and pleaded for “one more chance” even if she had to be under “house arrest”.
Magistrate Claire Girotto granted Rosser bail on strict conditions including that she reside at a specified Gilgandra address, abide by a curfew and other restrictions.
Rosser appeared before the court at Dubbo via video link from a correctional centre charged in connection to an alleged incident at Narromine about 8.15pm on August 6.
Pleas of not guilty have been entered. Rosser is accused of intimidating one person with the intention of causing them fear of physical or mental harm and of intentionally or recklessly damaging the screen door of a Duffy Street property.
The 18-year-old is accused of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm to a second victim while she was in the company of others.
Rosser is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm while in company against a third victim.
She is further charged with affray, in which she is accused of using unlawful violence towards five people by conduct that a person of reasonable firmness if present would have feared for their safety.
The defence made a bail application on Rosser’s behalf, saying there was now a proposed address at Gilgandra. The prosecution opposed bail.
The defence told the court Rosser was struggling in custody and that she had felt the force of the court since she went inside. The solicitor proposed a number of bail conditions and conceded the charges were serious.
The magistrate said they were “extremely serious”.
Ms Girotto granted bail on the conditions the accused reside at the specified address, report daily to police, not go near or contact or attempt to contact any prosecution witnesses, not associate with or contact the two co-accused, abide by a curfew from 7pm to 7am, and not enter Narromine except to attend court.
Apprehended personal violence orders were also put in place.
The matters were adjourned to Narromine Local Court on October 6.
