Toyota Tour de OROC is a unique cycling event started in 2013 and travelling across 12 Local Government Areas.
Starting Monday, October 5, to Saturday, October 10, the intrepid cyclists are once again riding to raise funds for the patient accommodation facility near Dubbo Hospital.
With Wellington taking part this year, the riders will start there, travelling to Narromine, Warren, Nyngan, Cobar, Bourke, Brewarrina, Walgett, Coonamble, Coonabarabran, Gilgandra, finishing at Dubbo after covering 1200 kilometres across western NSW.
A monster raffle is part of the fundraising efforts of this year’s event, offering the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes.
With return flights Dubbo to Brisbane for four people plus five nights’ accommodation in Brisbane for four as just one of the prizes, this monster raffle is full of value and fun.
Chirman of the TTdO 2015 committee David Hayes said: “Sponsors have been very generous with the prizes.”
“With newcomers JETGO offering flights and TRYP Brisbane offering accommodation, plus the Western Plains Zoo package and Wellington and Bourke experiences, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy,” he said.
“We have a committee of volunteers from across the region involved in the event, and we rely heavily on the support of councils, local groups and communities.
“This year, the Rotary Club of Dubbo South has undertaken this event as one of their major fundraising projects for the year. It is because of this commitment from the club that the event is possible to be run in 2015,” Mr Hayes added.
The Toyota Tour de OROC not only relies on the support of the surrounding councils and communities but also on sponsors and riders. All donations and sponsorship are welcome for this whole of region facility.
