As at Monday morning there were only three vacancies for the two-day event which of course takes pride of place up at the "Bowly" this coming weekend.
But funnier things have happened and who knows, if you get on the blower and ring the club now on 6889 1164 there might be a spot left.
So a big weekend coming up and "Katts" Karaoke will be playing Saturday night as well, so don't forget to bring your dancing pumps along, and perhaps some ear plugs as well.
Bowls last weekend was restricted to the social variety and with Thursday being a tad hot, it wasn't surprising to see numbers slightly down on previous weeks.
Some 16 gentlemen tested out the conditions and their respective opponents and at the end of the day the winning team was Peter Cross, Trent Jacobson and Mick Wright, with the runners-up cheque going to Peter Payne, Aaron Clark and Peter Kelly.
Sunday morning's chook run saw 26 bowlers finally get on the paddock after a little bit of confusion about who was in, who was out etc.
Anyhow, the final wash-up resulted in Des Lincoln, Ben Clark and Ronny McCarney getting the big end of the chocolate cake whilst Arnold Gillespie, Robert French, Geoff Bohm and Bob Davis had to make do with the crumbs.
Sunday also saw our annual presentation day which, according to my spies, was well run and enjoyed by all in attendance.
Special mention to the catering team.
Apparently the meal was first class and slurring with the skipper later in the day it sounded like the refreshments were all right as well.
So that completes the bowling season for another year, but if the new FWDBA calendar is any indication 2016 is going to be even bigger and better.
At the district delegates meeting on Sunday our District the Far West added five new clubs to its association namely Bourke, Cobar, Nyngan, Tottenham and Trangie which will hopefully make for stronger competition.
The new FWDBA match committee have already shown its hand in supporting theses new clubs and some of the smaller clubs by offering them hosting privileges for the first of the 2016 District Championship events.
This will mean that players will be given a choice of where they would like to play in the doubles and triples events with each championship having two qualifying
Sections: The Nomination Sheets for these championships have been emailed to all FWDBA Clubs and are also available to download of the zone four and district website at www.zone4midwest.bowls.com.au.
Our next "Supa Saturday" is December 5 and a nomination sheet for this event will be posted on the old notice board this week.
Well that's it for me for this week, my thanks to "Cub" Reporter Aaron for the past fortnight Melbourne and Canberra, both lovely cities to visit in the summer, pity the weather was its normal self, only got to use the shorts two days, not bad for November.
