Drivers had to navigate their way through thick smoke and high winds as the fire burned across from the Mungeribar Silos.
The Rural Fire Service attended.
"It was a straightforward grassfire, although there were some concerns for the silos although it was contained before then," an RFS spokesperson said.
The grass fire was reported at 1pm and it was contained by 3pm.
"The suspected cause was a motor vehicle, could have been an exhaust spark and on those hot and dry days it doesn't take much (cause a fire)," the spokesperson said.
No one was injured in the blaze and no property was damaged.
