Well despite a slight hiccup or three over the weekend our annual triples carnival proved to be a very successful one for both the bowlers and spectators.

The results proved very interesting and in the final wash-up it went down to a couple of clashes on Sunday morning that determined the final placings.
Top of the podium after five rounds was the trio of Jay Stephenson, Mickey McIntyre and Mathew McIntyre who were the only undefeated team all weekend.
In second spot was the Dubbo Railway team of Max Low, Alan Buck and Ian Moses who leap-frogged a few teams courtesy of a couple of solid victories on Sunday morning.
The third-placed team was a composite side made up of Adam Morrissey, John Morrissey and Paul Hollingsworth playing out of the Narromine and Gulgong clubs.
The Sunday results provided another twist in the tail with Jay Porter and the Sullivan lads, Ben and Warwick, getting the top spot for best performed team in the Sunday repecharge event, whilst the Goodooga team under the leadership of Tommy Stanton were accorded the runners-up spot for their efforts on Sunday.
No doubt the surprise packet of the tournament was the trio of Noel Dobe (Goodooga) and locals Geoff Anderson and Phil Harding who filled in at the last minute and, despite dropping their first game, won their next four encounters to just miss the podium for both the main event and the repecharge by just one spot.
Our captain/coach Aaron didn't fare as well as he had hoped, an unlucky draw and a telling loss to the eventual tournament winners sealed his team's fate, but given the added burden of being the tournament director all in all a pretty good effort on and off the green.
To his credit the sponsorship he and his team were able to raise certainly made the cost of running this event not quite as big an impost as it would normally be and on behalf of the club a big thank you to those wonderful sponsors for this support.
To DOMINA and BCIB Insurance group, Short Butchery, Owens Petroleum, W Burke and Co, The Stockman Motor Inn, The Narromine Butchery, The Ag Centre and ADAMA and The Narromine Pharmacy, I hope the club and members can reciprocate and spend some of their funds when next they need products your organisation can supply them.
Also a big thankyou to all the people who helped with catering and picking up glasses or rubbish over the weekend, it certainly made for smoother cogs.
We now move forward to this Saturday which will see our last Supa Saturday tournament for 2015.
These monthly events have proven popular to date and this Saturday should see some of the same ilk.
Just a reminder that it is individual entries, with names in before 6pm Friday night and play to kick off at 10am Saturday morning.
Also coming up off the green are a couple of big nights up at the "Bowly".
Thursday December 10 sees some 25 hams being raffled, whilst on Thursday December 17 $2000 worth of prizes must be won, so there's a couple of dates to put in your diary.
Our annual New Year's Eve party is sure to be a blast with Katts Karaoke booked and rearing to go.
So get your tables organised and come along to the best party in town, hope to see you there.
Social bowls numbers were a tad disappointing this week and obviously with the annual triples tournament in action over the entire weekend was restricted to just the usual Thursday afternoon foray.
But those 14 soldiers who did turn up certainly had an interesting afternoon.
On rink 10 Danny Carnevale and Aaron Clark won a hard-fought pairs encounter 14-11 against Bob Davis and Don Sullivan with the three shots scored on the final end by Danny and Aaron proving the telling andfinal result.
On rink eight it was even closer with just the one shot separating the trio of Ron McCarney, Robert Bateman and David McNair who got the win 15-14 over Noel Delboux, Bob Ashdown andPeter Cross.
On rink nine Trent Jacobson and Adam Jermyn (visitor) got all the spoils and the victory 28-21 in a very entertaining win over Mick Wright and Clifton Harris that assured them of the top podium spot.
The jackpot was not won and is inching out to a handy bonus for any team that happens to jag the right number in the next week or so, just another reason to plonk your name in the draw on a Thursday afternoon.
Nomination sheets for events in 2016 will be posted on the club notice board this week.
The bowls committee is looking to kick things off as early as possible in the new year and so these nominations sheets will need to be addressed before Christmas.
Are you playing pennants for Narromine Bowling Club in 2016 or contemplating playing in the club fours, district fours and/or district triples, then a trip up to the club is essential to firstly make sure you notify the bowls committee of your pennant aspirations, and secondly get those nominations in sooner rather than later to avoid missing the deadlines.
Well that's it for me for another week, hopefully this hot weather keeps on coming so the water warms up in the pool, need to swim, swim, swim.
