The Bad Blood singer does not want to be disturbed as she relaxes with family and friends on the luxurious Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, Queensland, so "half a dozen security" removed Seven's Sunrise Brisbane Correspondent, Michelle Tapper, and banned her from the area.

Tapper said the security told her and her cameraman: "There is a complete media ban on the island and Taylor Swift has asked for privacy." The bodyguards then made sure they left the area by ferry back to Airlie Beach.

"'I have never heard anything like it in almost 20 years of journalism," Tapper told hosts Samantha Armytage and David Koch during a live link back to studio on Wednesday morning from a boat metres off the shore.

"I do know there are other media on the islands," she added, but promised not to "out" them.

"I think it's hilarious you survived the mean streets of Brussels during a terror raid and you got thrown off Hamilton Island," Armytage laughed.

In a statement to Fairfax Media late on Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Hamilton Island conceded that certain media outlets were asked to leave the vicinity because they believed they were disturbing guests and denied the decision had anything to with Swift.

"Hamilton Island can confirm that representatives of a number of media outlets were asked to return to the mainland after arriving at the Island yesterday. It is within the rights of Hamilton Island management to take this action, and the decision to request that media return was Hamilton Island's alone.

"In this case it was clear the intention of the media outlets concerned was solely to disturb the privacy of a number of Hamilton Island guests without their knowledge or consent," it read.

Swift, who is currently touring the country during the final leg of her 1989 world tour, is rumoured to be throwing an early 26th birthday bash in the coming days and is expected to welcome her boyfriend, DJ Calvin Harris, and best friends Selena Gomez and Karlie Kloss to help her celebrate.

Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Oprah could also make an appearance as they are currently on tour Down Under.

Since the island is privately owned by the Oatley family, it is not illegal to expel unwanted media from the area. Tapper also revealed that the family "promised the star they will do everything they can to try and protect her privacy."

Swift has reportedly rented out the entire Qualia resort, where Oprah, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom once stayed. Clearly money is no object for the millionaire entertainer with one beach house at the resort costing $4,000 per night.
