No championships matches at home this week due to the district fours taking precedence, but that will all change this coming weekend with the semi-finals of our club fours programmed for Saturday afternoon.

Two terrific games coming up and the likely combination of results very intriguing.
In game one the foursome of Ben Clark, Luke Hutchison, Aaron Clark and Peter Payne take on the quartet of Geoff Cape, David Price, Sam Crook and Robert French, whilst the second encounter doesn't get any easier to determine the likely outcome with Paul Hilder, Clifton Harris, Steve Riley and Kevin Rider tackling Phil Harding, Des Lincoln, David McNair and Danny Carnevale.
Window tappers are advised to arrive early to ensure a good spot to watch this plethora of action.
As stated no championships last weekend due to district events where Narromine had a couple of teams entered in the district fours. This year this was played in two sections, one at Bourke and our nominated section at Yeoval.
The two teams wandered over to Yeoval on Saturday morning hoping to get through the day and thus reach the semi-finals.
For one of our teams it was a case of so close and yet?
Even an extra end didn't help Frenchy and Co, who played pretty good bowls all day, but at day's end had nothing to show for it.
Our other team, skippered by Robbie Stanford, ran into a red-hot Dubbo City quartet skipped by Adam Lee and, as fate would have it, this City squad is though to the final next Saturday. So as you can see their form was pretty good.
Back at home we had a couple of days of social bowls and again the numbers weren't too bad with 16 gentlemen taking to the greens on Thursday afternoon. An even healthier 20 filed into the club for the chook run on Sunday morning.
Firstly to Thursday's results and once again Peter Cross got the better of brother Ray when he teamed up with Sam Crook to beat Ray and John Heterik 23-15 to win the day on 14 points.
The runners-up cheque, or in this case a bottle of refreshment from behind the bar, went to the trio of Bob Davis, Bob Ashdown and Danny Carnevale who had a solid 22-10 win over Mal, Trent and Sully.
Sunday's result went something like this: in first place with 13 points and a margin of 10 were the trio of Trent Jacobson, David Price and Aaron Clark who put the hurt on Kerry, Bob and "Cranky".
The runners-up spot went to Geoff Bohm, Phil Harding and Danny Carnevale on a countback from Robert Bateman and Kevin Short, with both teams finishing on 13 points and a margin of two.
Just a reminder that nominations for the club A grade pairs close this weekend and to date 15 teams have entered. Not a bad number but I'm sure there are a few players out there who could and should be in this event, but aren't at this stage.
The pennant trial against Dubbo City that was scheduled for last Friday evening, has been reprogrammed for Friday, February 12 and a new squad will be posted on the notice board this week once the selectors are made aware of who exactly will be available.
Well that's it for another week, an interesting one to say the least, but then again it is pumpkin season.
