Agents said they were delighted with the clearance of sheep to a firm market on last month's sale.
Top first-cross price of $158 was gained twice with the first being a pen of 50 July/August 2015 drop ewes, March shorn from the Jones family, "The Troffs", Trundle, selling to Ian Morgan, Tamworth.
The other was a pen of 115 August/September 2015 drop December shorn bred by the Carter family, "Rose Hill", Narromine.
Store lambs were in high demand with the top draft of 165 first-cross wethers, September/October 2015 drop from MacAlpine Pastoral Pty Ltd, "Bogan Downs", Nyngan, making $92 a head. They had 636 wethers with the remaining two pens selling at $71 each.
Restockers were keen on Merino ewes with numbers topped-up by a dispersal of the Heffernan family's flock from "Hopelands", Wanaaring, who offered 2300 head selling from $47 up to $90 for the pen of 389 one to three year-olds of Mullengudgery blood and August shorn selling to Peter Andrews, "Tabratong", Nevertire.
Top Merino ewe sale was at $126 for a pen of 153 three-year-olds of Parkdale blood, sold for the Williams family, "Karawatha", Narromine. These were December shorn and 100 per cent scanned in lamb to Border Leicester rams and selling to a Cowra district restocker.
Merino wethers sold at $61 a head for a pen of 352 July/October 2015 drop, unshorn offered by Mr Heffernan and selling to a Wellington district restocker.
