When in doubt, read the instructions. Or when totally lost. Or when the end product looks nothing like the picture on the box. Or it doesn't work. While confidence is a good thing, too much of it (like many other things) can be a disadvantage.

Instructions are usually included by a manufacturer so the end user won't have too much grief using the product.
With that in mind, it is a bit frightening to hear that we seem to be on the cusp of a post-antibiotic era.
When Sir Alexander Fleming in 1928 discovered that a particular species of mould could retard the growth of bacteria, he began the modern age of antibiotics.
It revolutionised the world of medicine. Many who would otherwise have died were saved.
Fleming also discovered however that bacteria (sneaky little things) could develop resistance to this new wonder drug and warned the world to use his discovery with care.
It appears we did not listen. It now appears Australia has at least one person infected with a superbug that resists all antibiotics.
That's it, we now have germs that can live in people where our current arsenal of drugs have absolutely no effect. How did this happen? Well, we should have listened to Sir Alexander.
Antibiotics are so widely used even within the livestock industry that we've probably been exposed to it even without being prescribed it.
Eaten any flesh, fish or fowl recently from a developing country? Chances are pretty good somewhere up the food chain, antibiotics have been in the feed. So, what does a post-antibiotic world look like? Apparently, superbugs could one day (2050 actually) kill more people each year than cancer.
For followers of Jesus, we need not fear. Don't stress about things (or people) that can kill the body. Instead, we should all give more thought to the one which can destroy both body and soul (Matthew 10:28).
Also, let us not underestimate the Instructions from our Maker. For those who are lost and broken, it can show the way forward (John 8:32).
It can give a fresh start to the abundant life God meant us to have (John 10:10).
