The Tigers showed incredible composure to come back from being down 21 to zero to run out winners 33 to 26.
The Wellington Redbacks dominated the first twenty minutes running in three converted tries.
The Tigers had scoring opportunities they squandered them with ball handling errors often close to the Redbacks try line.
Tigers outside centre Brenton Montgomery opened the Tigers scoring when he beat several defenders before crossing over to score a try.
The Redbacks scored their fourth and final try just before half time to give what many thought was a match winning lead 26 to seven.
The Tigers self-belief was on display in the second half for all who were there to see.
Through the Tigers all conquering scrum they gained dominance over their rivals and played positive rugby.
The first to score after half time was NSW Country representative and Tigers number eight John ‘Boots’ Ellis.
Soon after man-of- the-match Tigers lock Will Michell crossed over.
When ‘Boots’ scored his second try which was converted by inside centre Damien Taylor the score was locked at 26 all.
The Tigers were not content with a draw and soon had the Redbacks grimly defending their line, but to no avail as Will Michell used his strength to score the Tigers match winning try.
The win ensures the Tigers are the minor premiers and will host the major semi final on Saturday August 6 against the Wellington Redbacks.
This Saturday the Tigers take on the Coonabarabran Kookaburras at Trangie’s Alan Burns Oval starting at 3.15pm.
In other Trangie sport news the Magpies went down to the Gilgandra Panthers this week 80 to 18. The boys will travel to Gulgong this weekend.
