About 20 Trangie locals gathered at the Imperial Hotel in Trangie last Saturday to form the Trangie Branch of the NSW Nationals .

Hosted by the State Member for Dubbo Troy Grant and Dubbo Electorate Council chairman Peter Bartley the enthusiastic group were easily able to elect new office bearers to run the new branch. Chairman is Craig Davies , vice chairmen are Jessie Quigley and Allan Kinsey , secretary is Rob McCutcheon , treasurer is Tony Quigley and membership officer is Dave Dugan .
A resolution was passed to set up a bank account in the town at the Orana Credit Union and a donation from the State Member in the amount of $500 will kick start the account. Important initial topics raised at the meeting were the water issue and accurate recording of flood waters as well as rural crime and law and order issues .
“It is really pleasing to see such energy and passion within the local community “ Mr Bartley said .
“Day to day issues can now be brought to the State and Federal Members’ attention.”
