Mrs Walsh, who sponsors a Ugandan child through Life Charity Focus (LCF) Uganda, found out how much it costs for shoes in Uganda and started a shoe drive at her children’s primary school.
Mrs Walsh was talking to the co-founder of LCF, Dione Carter, about how expensive shoes are in Uganda and was horrified school children didn’t have access to the simple need.
“Shoes are really expensive so I asked Dione if I can do a shoe drive, I thought that’s something I can do, something to help the charity,” she said.
The Walsh family started sponsoring Emmenuel through LCF after Mrs Walsh saw Mrs Carters’ photos of a trip to Uganda.
“[The Carters] went over there and I saw what they were doing and I cried, it was so beautiful,” she said.
Mrs Carter accepted the donation last week and told the students about life for a child in Uganda.
