Last Wednesday the weather was kind to the Gerries and a record field of 19 players attend for the weekly competition played on the back nine at Royal Narromine.
Winner on the day was Bob Culhane who returned an excellent score of 26 points which is sure to attract the attention of the handicapper. Well done Bob. Runner up on the day was John Butcher on 24 points another good round despite the conditions. The nearest the pin comp went to Ross King who was able to sneak inside Bill Burke and take the trophy. The NAGA trophy went to Neil Haley with 13 points and he grabbed the prize from Charlie Burrowes.
After the presentations the weekly pool comp was played .The first match was between Tiger Berryman and Terry Willis against Mal Richardson and Norm Lewis with Tiger and Terry advancing to the final. In the other match Gus Smith and Bob Fletcher defeated Chris Harding and Bill Burke.The final was an epic struggle resulting in a win for Willis and Berryman.
All players are reminded our last Wednesday comp for the year will be on 28th September and the first Saturday game for the summer season will be on Saturday 1st October. Keep these dates in mind.
This afternoon the Gerries will play their stableford comp on the front nine with the hit off at 2.30pm.
