The group of nine came together for the first time to establish mayoral roles and committee delegates.
Cr Craig Davies was elected mayor unopposed. He was humbled to be elected mayor for the next two years.
“I am sincerely indebted to the kind people who voted me onto this council. We have keen new councillors and existing councillors who want to make Narromine into a prosperous shire,” he said.
“We have a new council, new faces, new ideas and new aspirations. No should not be a part of our lexicon.
“The better we work, the better the outcome,” he concluded.
Cr Davies highlighted lowering crime rates, explore ways to help the rural roads crisis, resolve the levee bank as a few issues he wishes to address.
Cr Dawn Collins was elected deputy mayor. She beat Cr James Craft in a silent ballot, five votes to four.
