Ron Cape once again fed the masses and greenkeeper Steve Buttsworth can be proud of the way the greens ran over the weekend.
But who won I hear u ask? In fifth spot were Parkes trio Col Hayward, Tom Furey & Garry Carberry, who were beaten to fourth spot by a composite Narromine squad in their three-end shoot out.
The Narromine team contained five players who jumped in at the last minute, so a big thank you and just rewards to Rabz Macqueen, David Frail, Arnold Gillespie, Bill Shaw & Peter Cross.
In third spot was John Morrissey, Terry McDonald and Adam Morrissey, one of three teams who after five rounds of sectional play, were undefeated.
Second spot went to Trent Jacobson, David Webb and Rex Skuthorpe who were defeated in the final shoot out by Mathew Carter, John Wynne & Justin Bartlett.
Spare a thought for sixth-placed President Kevie, Aaronand Sam, as the first defeated team in the shoot-out they got nothing.
In social bowling on Thursday, 14 lads took to the green, but only one team went home with the dosh. This time around it was the trio of Don Gibson, David McNair and John Heterick.
All three winning rinks were however eligible for the Jackpot, but the old bingo machine failed to find the right number, and so the bonus prize pool will jackpot to next weekend.
Remember social bowls is on Saturday afternoon and the dress code is mufti. The event will be three-bowl pairs where possible, and there will be some cash prize money. Names in before 1.30pm for a 2pm start with a sheet for this on the board
The ladies have finished their bowling season, after the completion of the annual Presidents versus Secretary day and their jaunt into Dubbo on Wednesday for the McLeod-Munro Shield.
Just the Christmas party to go, which is on December 6, and whilst still taking names on the nomination sheet, secretary Rosalie would like to see those names up sooner rather than later.
With the bowls season slowly winding down, club house activities are warming up. On December 8 we will be having a big “Ham” Raffle instead of our normal faire.
Then, on December 15, as well as our normal raffle prizes, we will be having a bonus cash and prize pool of some $2000 in action. To top it off December 22 is a big seafood raffle. So, if you don’t normally come up to the club on a Thursday night, I suggest you have a change of plans from your usual routine.
