An extensive community engagement strategy has been developed to assist Council in undertaking the development of the Narromine Shire, IMAGINE 2027 – Community Strategic Plan (CSP).
The new strategic plan will provide a solid framework from which to pursue strategic directions for the Council itself.
This will also provide a guide for other stakeholders seeking to implement beneficial strategies for the Narromine Shire.
“This plan will not be Council’s plan,” Mayor Craig Davies said.
“Whilst guiding Council’s financial and asset management plans for the next decade, the new plan will build partnerships and help all stakeholders in their decisions so that our region can grow.
“We must ensure the community engagement process provides opportunities for the widest possible participation for those who are traditionally disengaged from these processes.”
From December 6 to 8, three community workshops, two pop-up shops, business and tourism summits and industry forums will be held.
These information sessions are targeting key areas such as business, education, aged care, seniors, youth, tourism, disability and health.
A survey, with a reply paid envelope has been mailed out to every household in the Shire this week and Council encourages residents to take the time to “Have Your Say”.
A new IMAGINE 2027 website has also been launched, www.narromine.localvoices.com.au.
Surveys can be completed online and you can register for any of the community workshops.
