Ex-National Rugby League player Rod Silva came to Narromine to talk with over 100 residents about the importance of the White Ribbon movement.
Organiser from Centacare Narromine, Jade West said the day seeks to change the mentality towards men’s violence against women.
“White ribbon day seeks to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate Men’s violence against women,” she said.
“Every year more than 60 women are killed by a man usually a man they know or love. 1 in 3 women have experienced physical and or sexually violence by someone they know to them, 1 in 4 children are exposed to domestic violence.”
Ms West said the day was a family fun event with a free barbecue and slip and slide, but everyone left being well informed of the White Ribbon message.
