Secretary Charlotte Rae said the committee are very excited for the event.
“The picnics create a buzz around Trangie and have a huge economical effect for the town and surrounding areas,” she said.
“Most importantly it gives us the opportunity to raise some much needed funds for some of our local community groups and charities.”
Ms Rae said there’s a new feel to this year’s races with a big focus on the family friendly event.

“This year we are focusing on a family friendly vibe for the picnics and are hoping to attract mums, dads and kids. We will be having face painting, clowns, jumping castles and child friendly food. All the entertainment is free for the kids,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing a huge, well behaved turnout and hopefully backing a winner.”
The Picnics will take place December 29 at the Trangie Racecourse.
