Coach, Jessica Skinner, was justifiably proud of her team that played its way into the final after a stirring victory 12 to 4 victory over Group 11 in their opening game.
The win over Group 11 set up another David and Goliath battle for the Castlereagh girls, this time against Group 10.
A try in the opening minutes to Sheridan Lillyman converted by Emma Gallagher stunned the Group 10 combination. They regain composure and scored four tries to make it 20 to 6 at half time
Castlereagh were not going to go down without a fight and their determination was rewarded when Emma Gallagher scored the final try for the encounter to make the final score 30 points to 10.
As a result of their fine performance a record number of four Castlereagh players were named in the Western Rams representative side.
