On Wednesday May 31, everyone is invited to a free Community BBQ at Dundas Park Narromine from 12 noon until 2.00pm to celebrate National Reconciliation Week. A bus will run from Trangie to Narromine.

The celebration will give an insight into Aboriginal culture with performances from the Trangie Central School Aboriginal Dance Group and the Narromine High School Aboriginal Dancers. Trangie Central School will also make a presentation depicting Aboriginal history. Lunch will conclude with a large celebratory cake.
There is special significance to National Reconciliation Week celebrating the referendum and Mabo decision. Guest speaker, Mr Joe Williams, an Ambassador for the Mabo Foundation, will make a speech.
The event is being organised by Council in conjunction with all the Indigenous groups in the Narromine Shire including the Narromine Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Ngarru Mayin Elders Group, the Mudyigalang Ladies and the Aboriginal Education Consultation Group.
