Corby has refused to leave the Bali villa in which she is staying ahead of her deportation on May 27 because she is paranoid about being hounded by the media who are waiting outside.

Chief Denpasar prosecutor Erna Normawati Widodo Putri said Corby was obligated to report to the Denpasar prosecutor's office every month under her parole conditions.

"We are trying for today, if she doesn't come, we will make a report to the Justice Minister that she didn't fulfil her mandatory obligation to report this month."

She said any action taken would be up to the Justice Minister.???

Corby, 39, has become a recluse in recent days, with her flamboyant family oscillating between teasing the assembled media and expressing outrage at the intrusion.

Her brother Michael has appeared wearing a dress and an array of grotesque masks, on one occasion doing a big reveal when he ripped off a mask of a witch and pulled out the oranges he had stuffed down his dress. However Corby's loyal sister Mercedes, who has pleaded for privacy, expressed rage after an Australian television crew filmed over the fence.

"Stop invading our privacy. Immigration have been notified with footage of you putting the GoPro [camera] over our fence and cameras over the fence. So rude!" she wrote in a sign affixed to the fence.

The family has recruited celebrity bodyguard John McLeod, director of Brisbane-based personal protection firm Tara Solutions, who filmed the media outside the villa where Corby has been staying.

The former Queensland police officer has provided security for Leonard Cohen, Kylie Minogue, the Dalai Lama and tennis stars including Grigor Dimitrov and Roger Federer.

Often TV networks and women's magazines offer large sums for exclusives, although it is understood a deal is yet to be signed.

Ten, ABC and SBS have ruled out paying for any interview. Seven and Nine are most likely to open their chequebooks to the Corby family.

Nine says it has "no formal arrangements" with them, while Seven declined to comment.

Nine will air a repeat of its Schapelle telemovie at 10pm on Sunday night.

All networks will have cameras and reporters tracking her journey home. Fiona Connolly, editor of Woman's Day, said budgets are not what they used to be in any media.

"Whatever money might be offered, it'll be a shadow of what it was when she was convicted. Gone are the days of the million-dollar TV deal. We're not even talking a round-the-world trip now."

However Corby cannot profit from her "criminal notoriety" or benefit from remuneration given to family or friends under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

In 2009, Australia's Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions recovered $128,000 received by Corby's family from the sale of her book My Story.

Indonesians are bemused by the hysteria over Corby in Australia. However the Tribun Bali on Wednesday had a front-page story saying the "Marijuana Queen", as she is dubbed by the Indonesian media, feels that she is being stalked by people.

"Ahead of full freedom and her return to Australia Corby, who has been dubbed marijuana queen, has been reported as depressed and afraid," the newspaper said.

Corby was 27 when she was arrested with 4.2 kilograms of marijuana in her boogie board bag at Bali's international airport in October 2004.

She was sentenced to 20 years' jail but had five years shaved off her sentence after then president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono granted her clemency plea, ostensibly due to her fragile mental health.

In the end she served nine years' jail at Kerobokan before being released on parole in February 2014. She has led a quiet life over the last three years, occasionally spotted running, swimming and reading at the beach.

Corby is reported to be dismayed to leave behind her Indonesian boyfriend, Ben Panangian, whom she met in Kerobokan jail while he was serving time for drugs charges.

He was later jailed for 10 months in December 2014 for possessing two packages of marijuana weighing 0.64 grams and 8.21 grams respectively.

There is conjecture that Mr Panangian would struggle to get a visa to Australia because of his drug convictions, should he wish to do so.

An Australian immigration spokesman told Fairfax Media visa applicants are required to provide details of their criminal history, which was taken into consideration when making a decision.

"All non-citizens seeking to enter Australia must meet the character and health requirements, as well as the relevant criteria of the visa for which they have applied," he said.

The Immigration Department website says applicants will not pass the character test if they have a "substantial criminal record".

Corby will be banned from returning to Indonesia for at least six months, with the possibility the ban could be extended. Asked if Corby's case should be an example to Australians not to import drugs, Bali corrections chief Surung Pasaribu said it should be an example for everybody.

He said she would attend the parole office on Saturday and then be handed over to immigration authorities. Mr Surung said Corby would be given no special treatment.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance to an Australian woman who will be deported from Indonesia.

"The deportation process is Indonesia's; it will occur in accordance with Indonesian laws and processes," a spokesperson said."Australian consular officers will provide limited support, consistent with that in other deportations. Due to our privacy obligations, we will not provide further information."

However it is understood the Australian government will not pay for Corby's airfare home. She is expected to catch a direct flight to Brisbane on Saturday night.
