Phil Johnston has been the Manager of Economic Development in Bourke since 2010 and prior to that worked in many Project roles for Bourke Shire Council.
Mr Johnston has also had responsibility for the Tourism function at Bourke Shire Council with his responsibilities including the development of the Back O’ Bourke Exhibition Centre and management of the Jandra paddle boat.
It is a busy time within the area of Economic Development in Narromine at the moment with the upcoming Retail Revamp workshops soon to be delivered, the ongoing work needed to complete the Economic Development Strategy, initial meetings in regards to the 2017 Air Adventure Air Show planned for October and discussions in regards to the Inland Rail.
Mr Johnston is looking forward to working within the local community on many of these projects and has already started to introduce himself to many of our business owners, representative groups and Councillors.
