Narromine Shire general manager Jane Redden said the council is looking to boost health and wellbeing.
“[The] council is leading the way in boosting health and wellbeing within the Shire, with its launch of 24/7 access to the gymnasium located at the Narromine Sports and Fitness Centre,” she said.
“The community has identified the need for a healthier, more active lifestyle in the Community Strategic Plan and we are really excited that we can be leaders in the way of promoting an improved way of life.’
There are several categories of gym memberships available, including a combined gym/pool membership.
“The 24/7 gymnasium caters to the different needs we have within our Shire, by providing different memberships, including those for seniors and students,” Mrs Redden said.
Councils 2017/18 Fees and Charges will be in place from 1 July, 2017.
“When purchasing a gymnasium membership, a refundable deposit of $10, will provide an electronic Access Key, granting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week access to the gymnasium,” Mrs Redden said.
“On return of this Access Key, the $10 will be refunded.”
Electronic Access Keys will be available from Monday, July, 3 when purchasing gymnasium memberships.
Memberships can be purchased from the council’s Customer Service and Payments Centre, located at 118 Dandaloo Street, Narromine.
Twenty-four hour access is just one way the council are enhancing the facility with plans to install CCTV cameras and other upgrades as well as investigate the viability of installing a spa and sauna.
