The luncheon aimed to let staff know about the resources available for assistance and to help reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health issues. The council facilities shut down for two hours to allow all staff to attend. Staff members raised in excess of $2500 for beyondblue.
This year’s guest speaker was Johanna Griggs, ambassador and board member at beyondblue.
”Born out of tragic circumstances several years ago, Narromine Shire Council has really impressed me with its desire to support its staff in providing them with an environment that considers their mental health and well being,” she said.
”It was really encouraging to see.”
