Friday was the end of the first week of walking, since taking off from Narromine last Monday, and the team finished off strong with Bill van Nierop and his support walkers completing 42 kilometres.
It was a massive effort considering the strong winds of 40 kilometres per hour at 12 degrees.
Mr van Nierop continues his walk to raise awareness and funds for lung disease. He has now been through Narromine, Trundle and Condobolin. He is keen to stop at smaller towns.
On Monday the walker will walk from Kiacatoo to Lake Cargelligo.
By lunchtime Monday the charity had raised $71486. The walk concludes in Forbes on Friday September 1.
