A ten wagon derailment has caused chaos on the line, causing some trains to be diverted and other trains to be held off as the tracks are fixed.
“We are working with the respective rail operators regarding services - it comes down to the need of the customer to get the freight to market, cost and destination - but there is an alternative route available,” the ARTC spokesperson said.
“Some operators may choose to stable their trains until the track has reopened.”

The corporation is unable to estimate the cost of the incident at this stage but have confirmed the tracks will be returning to its current standard.
The 10 wagon derailment took place on Sunday before midday south of Narromine between Narwonah and Wyanga. The incident is under investigation.
