Books on Prescription is a program that helps you manage your wellbeing using self-help reading. The scheme is endorsed by health professionals and available through your local public library. The books provide helpful information and step-by-step self-help techniques for managing common conditions including depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders. As part of your treatment your GP, psychologist or another health professional may recommend a self-help book from the Books on Prescription collection. These books are also available for anyone to borrow from their local public library.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
With just 6 weeks and 2 days to go, be your own Christmas Planner and start planning your Christmas events now. Pop into your local library to find information on all things Christmas. There are books to help you with every aspect of planning your Christmas event, from cooking up a storm in the kitchen and making unique Christmas decorations, to tips on wrapping those special gifts. Suggested book titles available include Maggie’s Christmas by Maggie Beer; The Australian Women’s Weekly titles Celebrating Christmas; and, Christmas Food and Craft.
Summer Reading Club is on again!
The Summer Reading club program is delivered nationally with over 40,000 Australian Children registering and collectively reading almost 300,000 books. Boost your child’s reading ability and register them for the The Summer Reading Program. It is a free program for children of all ages and will run from 1 December to 31 January. The theme for this years Summer Reading club is ‘Game On: Supercharge your Summer’. Join in the fun and visit your local library to sign up. There will be prizes and bonuses with fun activities and workshops on offer during December and January.
