The $20,000 grant will allow the recipient to undertake a 2.5 year Bachelor of Business degree (International Hotel and Resorts Management) at BMIHMS, with the money going towards accommodation costs.
“We are proud to give back to our regional communities through this annual scholarship,” AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said.
“Regional hotels are the backbone of their communities and this scholarship for a lucky young person is just one way we acknowledge the important role staff play in our venues right across the state.
“It really is a life changer for young people from the bush, with previous winners coming from areas including Mittagong, Wellington, Grenfell, Griffith, Forster, the Illawarra and Hunter Valley.
The winner will be announced at an Awards for Excellence ceremony on Tuesday, 21 November.
