Keith and his late wife Jeannie were the instigators for Narromine to have the world’s only true replica of the Wright Flyer.
Through their world wide contacts they acquired the original plans for the Wright Flyer from the Smithsonion Institute in America.
Not only did they acquire the original detailed plans but they set to and then built the plane.
The construction was followed to the letter. This was a very tedious and time consuming labour of love for the Haydens.
The "Narromine Wright Flyer" was flown on its inaugural flight by the late Colin Pay.
Keith served in the RAAF with the Catolina aircraft and saw service abroad.
Keith has been a very staunch member of Legacy ever since being demobbed by the RAAF some 70 odd years.
Both Keith and his late wife were extremely active members for the well being and welfare of the war widows and their children. Even at 95 Keith is still carrying out his Legacy duties to the fullest.
Keith celebrated his 95th birthday at the very fitting Narromine Aero Club with friends and other members of Narromine Legacy Club.
