Northbound motorists should divert off the highway at Tomingley, take Tomingley Road to Narromine, then the Mitchell Highway to Dubbo.
Southbound motorists are being diverted at Dubbo onto the Mitchell Highway, then onto Tomingley Road at Narromine to rejoin the Newell Highway in Tomingley.
This detour will add around 20 minutes to the trip.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on site.
