On October 14, Christopher Streat, Lucas Walsh and Lyndon Davis will be attempting to climb to the Sydney Tower in their firefighting uniform and breathing apparatus adding an extra 20 kilograms to their weight. The climb consists of 1504 stairs at 98 levels and a vertical rise of 820 feet.
“They have set a goal of $5000 to go towards the grand total,” captain Ewen Jones said.
Currently there are 426 firefighters registered to attempt the Tower Climb from various agencies.
“Keep an eye out on Narromine Fire Station’s Facebook page (401 Narromine) for upcoming fundraising events in the community,” Captain Jones said.
