Little Athletics
Location and Time: This year’s Zone Championships will be held at Narromine’s Payton Oval on November 18-19. We would like to encourage all of our club members to sit together. The kids really like to feel like part of the team as well as offering each other encouragement. As usual the ‘’ Be Your Best “ carnival result book will be available for everyone to write his or her results in. Please note your places and any P.B’s.

Uniform: All athletes must be in full uniform with age and registration number and patches attached in the correct positions. Shorts must be plain black with no logos.
Spikes: Spikes can only be worn by athletes u9-u15 in 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, and javelin. Spike length must be a maximum of 12mm. Most spikes will meet this requirement but please check to be sure.
Roster: All clubs are allocated duties for the Zone carnival. To make it fair on everyone we will be working on a roster system and each family will be allocated a time to help in one of these areas each day. If you find that you are volunteering when your child is competing we will do our best to get someone to relieve you.
Progression to Region: Athletes gaining a first, second, third or fourth place (with the exception of u7s) at the Zone Championships automatically qualify to compete at Regional Championships in Dubbo on the February 11-12 at DCL Park. If you do achieve a place at Zone but find you cannot make it to Region, it is important that your team manager knows as soon as possible so the next placed athlete can be notified of their eligibility.
What are ZONE Championships? The Zone championships are for under 7s and up. They compete against kids from different towns in our area and participate in their aged events, make friends, support the team and most of all have fun.
Narromine Bowling Club
Social bowls on Thursday saw some 14 keen soldiers take to the field, whilst Sunday saw just ten slightly less “keen” boys do battle: Kevin Heatrick and Terry McDonald won the meat trays on Thursday courtesy of a solid win over their opponents, whilst Sunday mornings winning team was the trio of Robert Bateman, Trent Jacobson and Robbie Stanford.
This coming Saturday sees our Club Challenge squads do battle in their respective regional finals series. Our Silver squad will play Mudgee at Dubbo Railway Saturday morning at 11am with New Side Manager John Edwards in Charge, best of luck keeping this mob under control. Saturday 10am at Coonabarabran is the designated starting time for our Blue Squad who will have a slighter “Tuffer” task, with two opponents in the mix for this division. First up our boys will play North Tamworth and dependent upon the result of that match will play Dubbo Railway in the second game or the Round 3 fixture of this round robin series. Travel arrangements for the Blue squad are to be confirmed but at this stage it looks like meet at the Narromine Clubhouse Saturday morning at 7.15am and we will take it from there.
Our annual triples tournament is only a couple of weeks out, and to date the numbers are not too bad, but we definitely have room for a few more teams. So please jump in and nominate this week.
The Club will be conducting a Christmas hamper raffle this year, tickets on sale later this week, with the prizes drawn on December 14. The Club are also looking to have a few bonus raffles leading up to the festive season.
Nominations for the Consistency singles Closed last weekend and games scheduled for this weekend are as follows:
Aaron Hutchison versus Mick Wright, Robert Stanford versus Geoff Anderson, Trent Jacobson versus Bruce Maher, Aaron Clark versus BYE
Whilst the games/ matches are in theory scheduled for 10am on Sunday morning players by mutual agreement may play their game anytime over the weekend.
