Thousands raised at Narromine Pink Golf Day

The region’s annual McGrath Foundation fundraising has gotten off to a strong start with 74 players taking part in Sunday’s Pink Golf Day at the Narromine Golf Club.

About $3000 was raised, getting organisers well on their way to the annual goal of $10,000.

“It was a great day, after the rain it turned out to be perfect,” organiser Shane Dalton said.

“Peter Treseder and the guys at the Narromine Golf Club pulled off a great day.

“I’m very happy about it because we’re off and running now!”

Shane Warne was the top-priced pigeon in the pigeon auction, with the remainder of the birds to be auctioned at the Pink Bowls Day at the Trangie Bowling Club on Saturday, December 16.

Next up on the pink calendar is the Pink Sheep auction, set for the Dubbo Saleyards on December 11, with the main event – the Pink Pigeon Race – on January 6.
