She’s sticking with her “Doc Martens” that will be outshone by the Elvis-inspired diamantes on the shoulders of her black jacket.
Ms Vincent-Cross is channeling Elvis and keeping to the festival’s ‘68 Comeback Special theme.
The theme marks 50 years since the King made a comeback to the music industry with an unforgettable television performance.
Ms Vincent-Cross and husband Paul will take part in the festival’s parade on Saturday in a “Charger” loaned to them by a friend.
They expect to enjoy stage performances, buskers, markets and a “great atmosphere”.
Ms Vincent-Cross was introduced to the King as a youngster.
“Where I grew up at Goodooga we had an open-air cinema and we often watched Elvis movies,” she said.
“I love his voice and he was so good looking he didn’t seem real.”
The Elvii at the festival don’t quite match the King’s looks and talent in the eyes of Ms Vincent-Cross.
“They come in all shapes and sizes, I can tell you,” she said.
The festival fan expects to be among “heaps of Dubbo people” at Parkes.
She intends returning each year to the festival that is “totally fun”.
