Narromine resident Peter Haseler passed away on Thursday, January 4 following a single-vehicle car accident on December 30.
Peter has been remembered as a much loved member of the Narromine Lions Club.
President of the Lions Club Vivienne Halbisch said, “the sudden passing of Lion Peter came as a big shock to many of us”.
“Lion Peter was a dedicated family man, working hard for his family as well as the Lions,” she said.
“He was a Lions member for 22 years, starting in Keith in South Australia, and continuing when he arrived in Narromine.”
“He worked in all positions in the Lions club, and at his passing was activities director and membership chair person of the Lions club of Narromine. He will be greatly missed.”
Ms Halbisch said Peter “was always there willing to help, when he was asked to do a job he was always there to do it”.
Lions Club member and friend Keith Erlington said “his relationship with the club and the way he worked … he has been a very good member and will be sadly missed.”
When asked what Peter’s greatest attribute was, Mr Erlington replied “how much he gave his best”.
Peter, a cherished grandfather and brother, also leaves behind his dearly loved partner Jeanette and children Matthew, Ben, Rachel and Charlie.
A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Friday, January 19 at St Augustine’s Catholic Church, Dandaloo Street at 11am.
It has been asked that in lieu of floral tributes donations be made to the Lions Club.
