On Wednesday, January 31, 10 staff made a donation at Red Cross Dubbo, with Simon Beer of Beer’s Buslines donating the transport to Dubbo and also giving blood himself.
Council’s general manager Jane Redden said more staff would have donated, except Red Cross was only able to book in 10 people at a time.
“It is great seeing our staff come together for such a great cause,” Ms Redden said.
“The Health and Wellbeing Committee are very proactive in not only increasing the health and wellbeing of staff, but where possible helping the community.”
Beer’s Buslines have committed to transporting staff to Dubbo to donate every three months for the remainder of the year.
In Australia, one donation is needed every 24 second.
