The Narromine Shire’s Cancer Patient’s and Carer’s Support group meetings for 2018 will start on Wednesday, February 21 at the Narromine Community Health Centre, conference room at 10am.
The monthly meetings are an opportunity for members of the community to come together to share and receive valuable information, not only to help those affected by cancer, but those who are supporting loved ones on their cancer journey.
Each meeting will host a professional guest speaker to offer information and helpful hints.
Following the meeting there are opportunities to ask questions and chat to others.
The support group is held every third Wednesday of the month, however Narromine Community Health nurse Rosemary Maunder said this could be flexible and potentially changed to Thursday if better suited, encouraging anyone with questions to contact the group.
Ms Maunder said the group could only continue with the support of the community, and encouraged everyone, people with cancer, families and friends, to come along and participate in the program.
There is also information, equipment and aids available for the community to help people stay at home.
The equipment can be loaned and accessed through the Narromine Community Health Centre by calling 6889 9600, or Jim Hamilton on 6889 1314 at Narromine Cancer Support.
