The weather was not kind as we saw a return to the heatwave conditions however the course was in good condition but a little on the slow side following some watering during the week.
In the Ladies division, the winner was Viv Halbisch on 21points closely followed by Bev Woods 19 points in second place on a count back from Dale Harding also on 19 points.
Well done ladies under the conditions. There was no winner in the ladies NTP and the jackpot now stands at 9 golf balls so it will be worth winning next week. Also insufficient players for a NAGA prize this week.
In the men's competition the winner was Bob Culhane with 25 points a great round Bob and a welcome return to form.
Runner up was Chris Harding on 23 points and he defeated Bruce Mitchell and Mal Fraser who both had 23 points also. Much delight to the beaten players who will not lose any handicap shots.
Bob Culhane won the NTP for the men while the NAGA prize went to Bob Richardson.
It is rumoured the handicapper will deduct two shots off the handicaps of all players who do not wear their new Club shirts to golf. Most unfair.
On to the Pool table where some interesting matches were played.Mal Richardson and Bill Burke played the opening match against Chris Harding and Terry Willis with Willis and Harding advancing to the final with a great win.
The final was between the very popular pairing of Gus Smith and Bob Fletcher who were expected to take the title.
This was not to be as Willis and Harding proved too strong in the run home and won convincingly to take the weekly title.
The " pom" was disappointed he could win the double as his golf let him down. No doubt he will lose shots off his handicap.
Next Saturday, the Gerries comp will hit off at the usual time of 9.00 am with the ladies playing the front nine and the men on the back. See you all at the 19th.
