Of our many Players competing at these tournaments, no doubt the best result was recorded by Puddy Gillespie, Don Sullivan and Terry McDonald who defeated all comers to win the Annual Easter Triples at Trangie.
The Boys won all 6 of their matches in what is always a great little tournament.
Once again a number of our teams got some recompense out of the weekend, but spare a thought for “Young” Clifton Harris who from Thursday afternoon till Sunday morning put down some 450 Bowls, all for a salad roll and some rice, tough going for this Panther.
We managed to get one game of consistency singles played whilst I was away and congratulation to Eddie McPhee who defeated Aaron Clark in a very keenly contested affair.
This win by Edddie now sees him through to the Final, where he will play either Ross Edden, Phil Harding or Glen Miller depending on who wins that section of the Draw.
Hopefully we will get these couple of matches out of the road in the next week or so, but if not I’m sure a suitable time slot will jump into play once the pennant season is over:
Nominations for the A pairs are coming in nicely and with only a couple of weeks left to get in the draw.
Intending Players should get themselves organised sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.
The first Round action plus any Mirrored Round 2 Matches for this event will be played on Saturday, April 29.
Social Bowls this week saw Doug Potter, Kevin Heatrick and Danny Carnevale atop the podium on Thursday, whilst Alan Shannon played some very nice shots with his new bowls, which was enough to enable him and partner Bill Wilkie to collect the loot on Sunday.
Pennants
At this stage the Grade 3 squad to travel to Baradine on Saturday Looks like this.
Trent Jacobson, Eddie McPhee, Glen Miller, Robbie Stanford, Alex Sambrook, Mark Hilder, Adam Jermyn, Ben Clark, Aaron Clark, John Edwards, Sam Crook, and Robert French.
Players are to be at Clubhouse before 8am.
The Grade 5 Squad to Play Parkes Railway Sunday Morning at Home is:
Danny Carnevale, Steve Buttsworth, Peter Payne, James Daley, Ross Edden, Phil Harding, Peter Cross, Kevin Rider, Arnold Gillespie, Bruce Maher, Don Sullivan, and Terry McDonald.
At this stage yours truly will be managing both Sides, and hopefully I can last the distance, this time around, shouldn’t be a problem only 24 “rowdy” Bowlers to keep in check.
Well that’s it for another week, but please if you have a chance to roll your arm “UNDER” before the pennants, even if only for a lousy 15 minutes, please do so, its surprising how much “luckier” you can get with a little practice.

The course was in good condition considering the recent dry weather and the weather was slightly on the ward side for opening day.

Not to be out done Harding revealed he had a 3/5 on the par four first hole so it was a tight competition.

There was no NAGA prize awarded due to insufficient players.
Due to the late start there was no pool comp playedbut it will be on again in earnest next week.
