After a warm start to the season and dry weather over summer, this year over 6000 people walked through the gates of both Narromine and Trangie pools.
The pools were an asset this season for residents to cool down and beat the heat.
This season Council trialled a junior life guard program with 15 junior life guards completing the Royal Life Saving Lifeguard and Bronze Medallion training to oversee the safety and running of the pools.
Narromine Shire Councils General Manager Jane Redden said, “the new program worked really well as it was a great way for Council to provide further education and employment opportunities for our youth”.
“On the whole it was a fantastic season and it was great to see so many people in our community get down to the local pools,” she said.
Both Narromine and Trangie Pools are now closed for renovations and are scheduled to reopen on October Labour Day long weekend.
