At approximately 11.30pm emergency services were called to Cale Oval where a red motor vehicle was found alight under the southern end goal posts.
It is believed the red Suzuki Swift was stolen from a residence in Meringo Street on Tuesday night. Police believe that the keys to the motor vehicle were stolen in a previous break and enter that occurred.
Police allege that the same motor vehicle was involved in an accident in the Coles car park in Narromine.
Orana Mid-Western Police District Inspector Dan Skelly said the investigation is still underway.
“We are following a number of leads, but at this stage the investigation is still open,” Inspector Skelly said.
Inspector Skelly said he believes that following the two recent arrests in Narromine there will be a decrease in crime related incidents in Narromine and Dubbo, however reminds residents to remain vigilant with property.
“Keep your property as safe as you can, lock all doors, windows at night.”
“There are still a lot of older residents who live under some belief that it's ok to leave your doors and windows unlocked.
“Many years ago that was the case, but we are living in different times now and we need to ensure our property is safe and locked up as much as possible at all times,” Inspector Skelly said.
Inspector Skelly encourages the community to report crime and any matters to police.
“Always report matters, even if you don't think it's worthwhile, that incident that occurred to you that you don't think is worthwhile could be a little piece to a major puzzle that we are trying to solve.”
