Dozens of families attended a Fire & Rescue NSW open day at the Narromine station on Saturday with a prime focus on home safety heading into the cooler months.

The open day was not only a great chance for kids to live out the dream of playing on the ‘big red trucks’, meeting fire fighters and shooting targets with the fire hose, but also a great opportunity for local firies to explain the importance of fire safety and prevention around the home.
FRNSW Commissioner, Paul Baxter, said it gives the community the opportunity to learn more about the vital work carried out by local firefighters.
“Our firefighters are among the most highly trained in the world and have a very wide range of capabilities,” he said.
“The job involves so much more than firefighting. From chemical spills, car accidents and natural disasters to prevention education and humanitarian relief, our firefighters are prepared for anything and help anyone, anywhere, anytime.”
