Narromine Shire Medical Centre officially opened its doors on Tuesday for for residents to gain a sneak peak of the brand new facility.

Upgrades to the facility included three additional consulting rooms, a pathology waiting room, additional pathology collection room, internal renovations, a new office space for telehealth specialists, and a new staff room and meeting space.
Narromine Shire Council’s Deputy Mayor Councillor Dawn Collins was present to officially open the new centre and said improving health services within the shire is part of the overall delivery plan within council.

“It’s great to see Council investing in the Medical Centre to support local General practitioners and services provided to the community,” she said.
“The new upgrades will ensure excellent health care for the Narromine Shire community well into the future, offering expanded services and upgraded facilities” she said.
Staff at the Medical Centre said they are very impressed with the new upgrades believing it’s a win for the community, a win for the staff and a win for the economic future of the shire.
In addition to the upgrades Cotton Seed Distributors have funded the installation of vital skin care detection equipment for the facility. The $20,000 donation has allowed for this potentially lifesaving equipment to be utilised locally for the benefit of local residents.
The council said that the upgrades will continue to ensure Narromine Shire Medical Centre has room for growth to sustain the communities’ needs into the future.
