This Saturday, July 14 the Narromine Jets will host their annual charity and sponsors day, as they take on the Forbes Magpies at Cale Oval.
Club supporter Sally Everett said the day is a way of thanking sponsors for their support throughout the season, and raising funds for local charities.
“The Jets will be wearing specially designed uniforms featuring the colours of our charity beneficiaries to be auctioned at the USMC after the games,” she said.
This years beneficiaries are Narromine Cancer Support Group, Narromine Rescue Squad and the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre.
“All three organisations provide services that are invaluable to our community,” Ms Everett said.
“Narromine Cancer Support Group consisting of dedicated volunteers provide care, support and assistance to those within our shire who have received a cancer diagnosis. This support and organisation is invaluable within our Community,” she said.
“The Narromine Rescue Squad have been operating in the community for over 40 years. The squad is made up of tireless, hard working volunteers. Government funding for rescue squads is extremely limited & minimal. Community support and funding necessary to keep their service operational.”
“The Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre are a non for profit organisation who offer support groups, advice and care to the Central West. Including Dubbo, Wellington, Gilgandra and Narromine. Their services are varied and can offer care, support and advocacy in areas such as mental health, domestic violence, children, youth and families just to name a few,” she continued.
The auction will be held at the Narromine USMC after the days games and all money raised will be distributed between the three charities. The night will continue after the auction with live music being provided by Duncan Ferguson.
The day will kick off with League tag commencing at 11am.
