In June 2017, the Trangie Rugby Club successfully received a grant of $692,000 and received an additional $300,000 from the Narromine Shire Council to complete the redevelopment.
Earlier last month the Council resolved to continue with their current position of accepting a tender which is “fully funded, guaranteed and meets both Council and community expectations,” and as a result last week announced David Payne constructions as the successful contractors for the redevelopment.
“Council is very excited about commencing the redevelopment of Alan Burns Oval in Trangie,” Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager Jane Redden said.

“Hopefully, if weather permits, work should be completed by early next year.”
“The redevelopment of the oval will see the Trangie community have a first class playing surface” she said.
The full redevelopment of Alan Burns oval playing surface includes: surface and sub surface drainage, new irrigation and turf.
Works will commence in October following the 2018 winter sports season and, weather permitting, will be completed early next year ensuring no disruption to the 2019 winter sports season.
