A 25-year-old female bottle shop attendant was left shaken but unharmed after she was confronted by two men wielding a metal object during an armed hold-up at the Narromine Hotel bottle shop on Wednesday evening.
Two men entered the premises at about 6.30pm threatening the employee to hand over money from the register.
It is believed the men stole cash and the woman’s handbag before leaving the store.
Police and detectives from the Orana Mid Western Police District have started investigations and are appealing for information from the public.
"Someone in the community will no doubt know who is responsible for this crime, or may have information that will lead to a possible arrest,” Orana Mid Western District Police Inspector Dan Skelly said.
“We appeal for that person or persons to come forward and assist us. People, such as this, that come armed with weapons to rob are capable of violence and can seriously injure or kill people in their endeavour to rob others. We want them off the streets and rely on the community to assist us,” he said.
The first man is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 175cm tall and of a muscular build. It is believed he is wearing a black cap, green camouflage jacket, grey t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers with a white trim, a black scarf around his neck and face and white gloves on his hands.
The second man is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 40-50 years old and 180-185cm tall. He is described as unshaven, wearing a dark jacket, hooded black jumper underneath, black Everlast brand pants, and grey shoes.
