Cost for the day is $40 per player and includes breakfast, lunch and some very good prize money to the winning teams.
If you want to play on Saturday and haven’t “plonked” your name down on the nomination list posted on the notice board, you best get down to the club “NOW” and do so as noms close Thursday evening.
In association with “GUB” Thorne day, we will be having “Live” music in the club Saturday Night, just another reason to come along and join in.
Nominations for the B grade Pairs close this Saturday and to date the numbers are not too “Shabby”, but a few more wouldn’t hurt, so again if you’re a mind to have a go your team has to be on the list before 6.00pm Saturday night and best of luck to all.
Social Bowls this week again saw pleasant numbers go round Thursday (22) with the day’s winners being Richard Hyde, Mark Hilder and Terry McDonald.
The runners up cheque went to the trio of Rick Bohm, Dale McCafferty and Aaron Clark.
The jackpot pool was “swelled” by a few more shekels as once again the old bingo machine failed to find a winning number.
Great to see the Warren Lads in the field, you support is very much appreciated.
Sunday Morning’s Chook run attracted a tidy field of 14 keen soldiers, with the Day’s main prize pool going to Ray Bradley, Geoff Bohm and Danny Carnevale, with Richard Hyde and Adam Jermyn getting the consolation refreshment prize.
Not much more to report hope to see you all up at the Club
Saturday for “GUB” Thorne Day.

Gerries Golf
Masling in close win
Last Wednesday a field of 16 golfers participated in the weekly Gerries golf competition played on the front nine of the Narromine course in almost perfect weather conditions.
Winner on the day was the very consistent Brian Masling with a great score of 27 Stableford points.
"Maso" has been playing well of late and this week had to survive a count back from Gus Smith who also had 27 points.
Great golf from both players and the handicapper could not get home quick enough to adjust the handicap of the winners.Masling also won the NTP for the week with only one golf ball in the kitty.
The very important NAGA prize was won this week by Ross Fraser.Well done Ross.
Following the golf presentations attention turned to the pool competition where their was great interest in the matches.
The opening preliminary round was between Greg Kearines and Gus Smith against Ross King and Bob Fletcher.
Kearines and Smith were far too good and despite the advice from the gallery, advanced to the final where they had to play Mal Richardson and Terry Willis.
The final was a good game where Kearines and Smith proved far too good for the more fancied pair of Willis and Richardson, to become champions for the week.
In all it was a very good afternoon.
This afternoon, the Gerries comp is on the back nine with the hit off at the usual time of 2.30pm.
See you all on the tee.

Racing
Local galloper Little Bertie started a pronounced favourite but still had the L plates on when scoring a remarkable win at Coonamble TAB meeting on Saturday.
When the leader kicked away halfway down the straight the chasing Little Bertie ( $ 1.55 favourite ) looked well beaten but switched to the inside by Tony Cavallo finished hard to beat Stomp ( Ashley Morgan, $6 ) by a half neck with over four lengths to third placed Alpine Royal ( Courtney Van Der Werf, $21 ) in the 1200 metres Coonamble Supa IGA Maiden Plate.
The now five year old Little Bertie had only raced once before, when a fast finishing second to Another McCloud at the recent Dubbo meeting.
The trainer Cec Hodgson and owner and breeder Stella Cleary conceded a lot of patience was required to finally get Little Bertie to the races but the effort looks like being worthwhile as the Coonamble win had plenty of merit.
Stella Cleary bred Little Bertie from Friends Venture which when a yearling filly had been won by Amelia Lundholm and Stella Cleary in a raffle conducted by the Wellington Race Club.
Friends Venture won at Coonamble but after a few more starts broke down and was retired to stud.
After back-to-back wins, Blue Channel will step up in class at Coonamble on Saturday.
