The Trangie Showground and Racecourse has received $82,000 to replace timber and chipboard in the grandstand with aluminium seating.

Narromine Shire Mayor Craig Davies has welcomed the funding and said it will help complete the necessary infrastructure upgrades to the showground. 

“The grandstand now is in a deteriorating state and has slowly been getting worse for some period of time. this $82,000 is going to completely re-deck it with aluminium and it will be there for decades for come,” Mr Davies said.

Ten local organisations will benefit from a share in almost $303,000 allocated to the fund.

Member for Dubbo Troy Grant said the funding would support the hard work of local groups.

“This is great news for our region and I am proud the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund program is focused on ensuring our community and visitors can continue to enjoy local land and facilities,” Mr Grant said. 

Other projects to receive funding across the region include: the Meroo hall, Mount Arthur reserve, Windeyer recreational ground, Burrendong arboretum, Dubbo RSL, Stuart Town public recreation reserve, Mogriguy Soldiers Memorial hall, the Gulgong racecourse reserve and the Mid-Wesern Regional council.

Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole said this year we’ve made a record investment into Crown land with more than $20 million in grants and loans being provided across the state.

To date the NSW Government has invested $115 million across seven years into Crown land projects.

CRIF supports Crown reserve managers by providing funding for repairs and maintenance projects, pest and weed control, new recreational infrastructure and environmental initiatives.
