Almost 280 kids from Narromine Christian School, St Augustine’s, Narromine Preschool, Trangie’s St John’s, Trangie Central, Tots on Temoin, and Little Rae of Sunshine day care took part in the event, which aims to bring community kids together.
Event organiser Ann-Louise Stonestreet from Communities for Children said it was a “crazy fun day”, which sees a number of people and services from the community provide activities that coincide with the beginning letter they are representing.
“It was full of fun and adventure, with activities provided from 22 services,” Ms Stonestreet said.
“Activities included potting plants, painting rock pets, decorating bikkies, patting animals, watching the fire brigade put out a fire, blowing bubbles, playing sports and footy, colouring in, jumping and dancing, learning about extinct dinosaurs, teeth and hand washing hygiene, learning about the dangers of smoking, learning about policing, artworks of imagination for dot painting, numbers and more,” she said.
Ms Stonestreet said the event happens every September and is an interactive, fun way to learn the alphabet while meeting new friends.
“It is a great way to bring the community together while the kids learn,” Ms Stonestreet said.
“Each service really enjoys their time with the kiddies and it is a highlight for the kids,” she said.
Ms Stonestreet thanked the Narromine Christian School for hosting the event and bringing community kids together.
